Our Jiu-Jitsu Story
BJJ Walthamstow is co-founded by passionate martial artists Antony and Fábio. Antony, a 3rd-degree black belt with multiple national and international titles, has been teaching since 2005 and is one of the UK’s most experienced children’s instructors. Fábio, a dedicated practitioner since 2008, transitioned to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2018, where he found his true passion. Committed to respect, perseverance, and continuous learning, he creates a positive and inclusive training environment for students of all ages. Together, they bring world-class coaching, technical excellence, and a strong community spirit to BJJ Walthamstow.

Antony Chahal
Antony began training in Jiu Jitsu in 2005 under Felipe Souza at BJJ School UK, earning his black belt in 2013. Now a 3rd-degree black belt, he is recognized as one of the UK's most experienced children's instructors. He started teaching through a youth charity project in North West London and quickly took over the youth classes at the school.
In 2015, after Felipe Souza returned to Brazil, Antony became the director of New School BJJ, coaching children to national and international success. He has trained with top experts globally and has coached students of all ages and skill levels.
As a competitor, Antony holds multiple national and European titles, including gold and silver
medals from the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Federation and a silver medal at the World
Professional Jiu Jitsu Championships in Abu Dhabi.
As Co-Founder of BJJ Walthamstow, he brings extensive knowledge, passion, and experience to the sport.
Fabio Felix
Fábio embraced martial arts by starting traditional jiu-jitsu in 2008. He transitioned to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) in 2018, where he found his true passion and a way of life. The art's techniques, leverage, and strategy captivated him, solidifying his commitment.
He embodies the values of respect, perseverance, and continuous learning, serving as a testament to the transformative power of sports and their ability to positively influence lives.
As Co-founder of BJJ Walthamstow, Fábio's dedication extends beyond personal growth. He enjoys sharing his expertise with fellow practitioners, fostering a positive learning environment for students of all ages through his compassionate and patient approach.
